Moreauville LA | Few years back, 2016-2021 we were deer and duck hunting Oklahoma pretty hard. Met a few cotton farmers in different areas that had grown enormous crops the 4 years prior. New or upgraded gins, baler pickers and so on. Told me how cheap they could grow it and consistent. The two things we lack growing is here in the ultra Deep South.
I cautioned him, that nothing that good lasts, ever. There going to be a bug, a weed, a crooked buyer, a drought, a rainy fall, you name it and it will clean your clock.
Don't know what happened, but since, there have been some rough crops. In my experience, if a gin is not run by those that have a direct financial interest in it, it will not succeed. Otherwise too many big shot board members expecting favors and so on that that brings the operation to it s knees. It becomes their gin, and it will fail.
