Southren Illinois | Couple years ago I had liner problem in 9770, engine was shot. options were overhaul it which would take more time and labor cost which amounted to close to same cost as option 2. option 2 was a new block and fuel system etc. off old motor. Option 3 was whole motor. I choose option 2, machine was down a month, rented a machine to harvest 750 acres, Total cost including renting machine was $40,000. Option 3 was little over $40,000. I renewed my vows with that machine and will be married to it for awhile now, but I now have a 9770 with 1700 sep hours and 200 engine hours which should last me a while. Don't let crop in the field, rent machine and get crop harvested and choose your poison on your machine. | |
