Your trailer is old enough that it does not have spring brake chambers for the parking brakes. The system is doing what it is supposed to do, when the trailer air supply (red button) is pulled out, air from the trailer air tank is sent to the brake chambers to apply all the brakes.

Something is binding with that slack adjuster, S-cam, or brake chamber. Possibly yoke between brake chamber rod and slack adjuster?

Too old for spring brakes but new enough for anti lock?

I did not look at the pics much at all after reading the post and not seeing spring brake chambers. My oversight, I should get in the habit of zooming in when in my phone. The trailer obviously has ABS, I can see that now that I looked that the pictures closer.

Curious to what the situation is with the brakes, every 1975 and newer trailer I’ve been around has spring brake due to federal law/regs. Is this a triple or quad axle and there are spring brake chambers on the other non-shown axles, or has someone changed things?

Mitchco made a good point to check for a rusted/broken return spring inside the chamber.
