I do farm. And I also understand systems of measurements. A bushel is purely volumetric and a specific bin is a fixed volume. The number of bushels in a bin is a constant.

Only when you weigh the contents of the bin do you ratio that volume to the international standard of 56 or 60 lbs per bushel of corn or beans respectively.
