Exactly. Find what controller is offline, locate it check can wires for resistance should come in at 60 ohms. 120 ohms you have terminator issues, opened or shorted you have wire issues. Can wires are good you have power/ground issues to controller. 100% frustrating when you are trying to hammer down that’s for sure.
