SW North Dakota | Counterpoise is a reflective metal surfaces for the antenna to work. That is a real problem for plastic roofs. Using a NGP antenna works ok. Not as good as the non NGP but it works. With that short of range you have a MAJOR antenna problem. Using a 5db gain antenna helps. I would really like to talk to anyone on the phone to explain it. Email me and I will give you my cell #. Again I will say you have a major antenna problem and the way it sounds you have NO antenna. That can cause problems for the transmitter on the radio because you have very high SWR. | |
