I have to admit my info above is all heresay.
My parents used savings to pay for their stays of 4 plus years total. Mother in law was low on cash but had income from land. Medicaid paid what her social security didn't cover while she was in the home but came looking for what they paid about 6 months after death and they were serious about it. That much is fact.
