Over here in NE IL we're still trying to catch the "award-winning" yields of Francis Childs. 

I don't remember him advocating strip till. Didn't the mini-moldboard come from Francis' proven methods?

Seems many of us are just a few years behind in trying to catch up to the "winners".

Francis employed 5he mini moldboard, deep. Planted with an IH 800 cyclo. I knew Francis, as he was a Polaris dealer. He was king of the hill back then, but Hula and Dowdy would embarrass him today.
