Modern Electronics has Ruined Modern Machinery.......

I’m an old guy by now, and of course I’m supposed to be in that frame of mind, these horses worked fine for all these years who would want those complicated new fangled tractors….

I really always liked technology, used to be a computer nerd when you could, or perhaps was common to, build your own. Drones, have several.internet and tablets are great.

But the more complicated and ‘licensed’ every tool has become, the more fragile and money pit it seems to be.

Hard to see it working great into the future, I guess we might need a new business model. Soviet Union type of structure might work best with this new stuff? The company or govt owns the contraption, and I just hold the steering wheel - er, um, just monitor the cell phone as the machine does the govt work. *

You forgot to mention that the oh so wonderful tool (that with a plethora of electronics) needs to be traded off 'before' all the sensor/electronics gremlins start.
After that point its a change everything problem and that seems like its quite counter productive.
By you buying new every few 1000 hours - - - well --- lookee at all the $$$$ that company gets to make.
They'll tell you about all the wizbang gadgetry you're getting every time too.
(Somehow they forget about the how does the user get to make money option though!)

I'm starting to wonder if there is going to become an option for a roll your own with minimal electronics - - - unless Garvo really wants to spend $500k usd per year with purchase and maintenance on his chopper.
(Somehow don't think he can afford that but - - - - ja just never know . . . )
