It is possible but it will come with many challenges. Residue management and consistent seedbed are a couple of the biggest challenges.

Shallow strip till ahead of the planter is a very easy way to manage residue and create a consistent seedbed. Plus this gives you an easy way to apply fertility, especially nitrogen, as well.
