Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning.

I have solar here. Power I sell back to Unisource, gets me a credit of .0829 / Kwh.
On peak costs .18 / Kwh. Off peak costs .096 / Kwh.
My solar is a sunk cost so what a guy chooses to amortize is up to them. I figure .0829 /Kwh to charge the car because I charge when the sun is shining.
For a commuter car in the midwest, I think it's a perfect fit if you can charge in the garage or yard. I look at the situation for some of my wife's widow friends and shake my head at their fight with gas cars. Need to schedule maintenance. Need to gas them at station, need to worry about starting when it's cold. They never or rarely venture more than 10 miles from home but they suffer range anxiety and fear of something new so would never consider an EV. Leave the EV plugged in and it's warm and ready to go on a cold morning, without worry about fouling engine oil due to long periods of idling.
