Eagle River Ontario Canada | I'm wondering if anyone here has played with growing red clover for seed production. This was our second year doing trial plots on about 6 acres. We yielded around 1000lbs so about 200 lbs per acre. I'd like to know what are guys doing as far as threshing and trying to bring the yield up. My goal is to be in the 500-600 lbs per acre range. Would love to hit 1000 but trying to keep my goals realistic.
The clover this year grew very well. We are in heavy clay soils and get average 1100mm of annual precipitation. The pictures represent the average growth of the crop we combined this fall. Some spots were heavier some thinner.
