Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning. | Well, we stopped to charge a couple times during each day. Then one charge each night. Did make a couple stops for rest room use, that didn't include charging but I didn't log those. Anyways, I'm pushing 80 and my plumbing isn't as durable as it was 25 years ago so these 400 mile non-stop legs that some brag about don't work for me any more. Bottom Line; charging the car is not all a waste of time because the car can be plugged in and left un-attended while charging. Leaves the occupants free to eat or tend to other stuff. Stops at meal time are used to eat because we patronize places close to chargers. All of this is not to say that an EV is the perfect solution for road tripping but it is livable. Before buying the EV, I heard stories of travelers spending four hours a day, just charging. I have not found that to be the case. |
