Southeast Washington | We had a combine fire once from a demo combine that started from something coming off the engine of a brand new combine. It burnt over 600 acres of mostly range ground and harvested wheat stubble. Our ground there varies greatly in elevation. Not quite a month later a lightning storm came through and started multiple fires in the area and ended up burning an additional 138,000 acres. Burnt everything else around the original 600 acres and it did nothing to help control the lightning complex burn. It took a lot of years for the pasture to regrow and i don't think it has ever recovered like it was before the fire. That was in 2006. | |
