| North Central Iowa...
Beans 10 bu below APH in our immediate area. Not a disaster, but we were hoping for a bit better. Our best farm might touch 67, lowest might hit high 40's.
Corn, we are just getting started. First field went 225, 2nd one will probably average around 200, which is probably 30 bushel under trend adjust average. We'll flirt that 200 bu line in most fields, after drown outs are considered. Failure? Probably not. 30 bu under APH on all farms? For sure.
Customer wise...
I'm being told a lot of 170-185 bu corn north and east of me. This would be 40+ bushel under APH. I've heard bean yields from customers and friends in the high 40s. Lowest I've heard came in today, sub 30 bushel. You get north and west of me, where they caught a 6" June rain, I'm hearing a lot of high 30's to mid 40's.
I think we've got 60-70k acres insured in our tri-county area in North Central Iowa, so I'll get a pretty good handle of actual yields. | |
