| I just went thru this on 1 of my fields. The neighbor was burning a little brush pile in a county burn ban and caught about 5 acres of my cornfield on fire. He doesn't have home owners insurance so I tried to make a claim with crop insurance and my property insurance. Neither of my insurance companies would cover the loss. Crop insurance said no because I didn't have hail and my property insurance only covers the crop when it's harvested. I talked to my lawyer as a last report and he told me my only option is a small claims lawsuit as my dollar amount of damage is under 10k. | |
