Tilling a long term no-till field will give you a massive 1-2 year yield bump which quickly disappears to go back to normal. Be careful what you attribute that yield bump to, it isn't tillage. I am also not exactly sure of the scientific explanation. I have experience working several different fields of long term no-till and have seen a massive yield bump. I believe it is similar to the more mild, but still large yield bump you get the first 1-4 years after pattern tiling which then disappears.
