Roseglen, North Dakota | That's true, you don't lose dry beans in the bin. But there's no denying you're leaving substantial money on the table hauling them in dry.
1. I disagree with the guy who leaves them in the field waiting for a rain. You farm all year for the crop. You get it off when it's ready.
2. I agree with the guy who puts moisture back in the grain. You wd pay for automated fans in a hurry.
3. I am skeptical of adding moisture by:
Loading in the rain
Putting water in them with a hose.
We tried that with peas to "soften" them up so they wdnt crack when seeding.
The water runs through them and drains out of the box. They're so hard they don't absorb moisture. | |
