Galahad, Alberta | Nothing worse than a fire on a windy day to scare the heck out of you. I’ve seen a combine burn up in canola stubble on a calm day and the fire didn’t go more than 30 feet from the machine. And I’ve seen sparks from power lines touching start a fire that ran miles before getting it stopped. Wind driving it jumped fire guards repeatedly. Glad to hear your area has lots of people prepared to fight a fire on a dry fall like this.
