West Central Illinois
Strip till. We’ve been doing it for over 35 years on corn. Friend has a Krause Gladiator and he swears by strip tilling corn stalks ahead of beans.
We use a vertical tillage tool on a few flat non-erodible fields to get a jump on soil drying and early growth on early planted beans. Can’t say we’ve seen any yield bump on beans tho.
And long term, tile is the best payback and aid to notill.
