Buster, those ropes are the deal. We've got 6 I think. I buried a Magnum to the frame in running water next to a irrigation ditch this summer. Hooked our 1" rope to it with payloader. Came right out. Amazing with a 1/2 ton truck can do with one. Here's a short video of me pulling power man out on desert this spring. I had to keep hitting him, infact even switched rope as we heated, stretched rope. Had to let it rest, so just switched it out. When video ends, is when truck went to the frame. But we got it.

They allow you to get a run, and don't break things. Just make sure you use good clevis with screw pins. We've even bought the attachment block for the receiver hitch for clevis. Power man was grinning as he would have had to wait 2 hours for a winch truck to pull him. We did it with a 1/2 ton.

Edit to add: they are made 70 miles from me, everyone we pull out drives there and buys one.
