Nebraska | Enjoy finding others’ names left from years past on projects. 1963 was the date stamp in the old load out chute. My dad remembered that so and so was the last one to unload a pot load of warmed up Hereford heifers out of the dakotas that Grandpa bought. Trucker Had a green cab over Pete with a screaming Cat engine.
Tore out that loading chute this week as I’m pouring a pad and bunk line making room for a few more freezer beef fats. Posts and lumber in that chute were still solid as could be. Both men who helped build it have gone on to greener pastures. Sure could use a rain.
