West Central Iowa | Have a 2 row narrow silage head on my 3800 PT chopper. The 3800 has the same feed roll width as a 3960/70/75. But if that same head is used on a 3940/50/55 with narrower feed rolls, different (tapered) side shields are available in the heads throat area to narrow the crop width.
Deere is pretty proud of the pieces necessary to narrow the crop flow, and I could likely buy an entire head as a spare (or for parts). Tried Worthington with no luck in the used category. Any other chopper salvage places I could call....or anyone know of one somewhere sitting in the weeds or already parted out with these components? | |
