NW Indiana | Well let me help you out then. I farm in Jasper and Newton county. Jasper is typically the highest corn production county in the state and near the top in beans. Newton county is typically one of the top yielding counties. Corn so far in my area is good to excellent with some records, however I'll say the northern half of the counties aren't what we are seeing in the southern. Beans are average in my area.
Overall my guess the usda is close on corn but I would lean towards a little high based on late dryness and disease. Soybeans I will be shocked if they aren't 1-1.5 bu high. | |
