I still believe the lessons learned in late 70’s and 80’s with regards to the Iran government overthrow and basically 10 year long Iraq/Iran conflict are fresh enough and US military leaders realize what a ground war in Iran would look like. Israel and to a little lesser extent the US are great at covert and precision strikes. A ground war/invasion would be a blood bath on both sides. We are talking half a million men at least for any type of real ground invasion. The US electorate will not stand for that.
And Israel will not send troops of any volume as protecting the homeland is more important than a long drawn out ground war. Both sides unfortunately save face by this tit for tat missile lobbing/Hezbollah/Hamas leadership killing.
