| It wraps up in my ground wire if it’s too loose. I usually start with no sag 50’ between posts and let the deer stretch it until I start having trouble and then tighten it. I’ve run old trampoline springs on short runs before and never touched them again. Not sure they are stiff enough for 1/4 mile run.
Inch of sag on 50’ inch is a good place once wire gets stretched in.
But yea the guys with no ground wire let theirs sag until it’s closer to the ground than level. I always have yearling heifers though and they will start adventuring. But again if it’s too high and no ground the baby calves are adventuring.
I’m in a good spot where there’s not much to hurt here and very little traffic. But I hate getting calls from someone concerned and can’t tell them, the calves will just run right back under when they hear me coming.
