Yes I am the old fart in the yellow Guggisberg cheese hat.
The blue plastic plugs are for plugging a milker inflation on three teat cows so that it doesn't lose vacuum.
Barn will hold 300 but currently only at 165. We have 200 heifers to freshen in the next 2 years, so hopefully we will full in 2 years. Started with 80 cows in 2007 and filled a 150 cow barn in 2 years with all home grown animals, so we should be able to do it again.
My grandfather started milking a dozen cows here in 1945 in a tie stall barn. Expanded to 63 tie stalls with a pipeline in 1968. My father and uncle expanded to 120 freestalls and parlor in 1988. Milked 160 in 2006. Split the herd in 2007. And here we are today.
