| I quit eating processed foods, soda, sugar, and went low carbs about 3 or so months back.
Im down a solid 30#, maybe more.
BP down 40 points on top number 20 bottom.
At a month in I added in a quick 10 minute morning workout. Pushups to failure (I’m up to about 40) several kinds of crunches and some leg stuff to failure. Toe raises and squats, curls with 50# dumbbells to failure.
Some of my Shirts are getting tight on my arms, I’m wearing pants that have been in the back of the closet 10 years, all my aches and pains from”getting older” or doing stupid stuff have gone away.
I don’t crave carbs any more and if I eat something I shouldn’t I don’t feel good. We use our own beef (grain finished) fresh milled wheat for bread/flour, olive oil to fry in. I used to eat about anything.
A day of food for me looks like:
Burger patty for breakfast, probably 1/2 pounder.
Maybe another burger patty tor lunch, maybe 2-3 pork chops or a couple big chicken breasts. Might eat an actual burger if I’m not near the house, but no fries for sure.
At supper time I might eat a small portion of side with carbs and or a slice of home made bread. Mostly meat again. I don’t really like veggies.
Of course things happen and wife wants a date and I’ll have a “normal” meal now and then or catfish is the special.
Still have my evening beers if I’m working late, but I’ve noticed I have to be carefull it’s alot easier to have too many now. No idea of calories or carbs, but it’s working.
I used to eat a lot of carbs and a fair amount of processed food, maybe 2-3 soda a week, I’m not much for sweets though. So sugar for me mainly came from bread and what they sneak into anything processed. But a normal lunch for me before maybe 2 burgers and a side of fries. Couple hotdogs for breakfast, and I’d eat at supper until my plate was clean and whatever the kids left was gone too. I’m buying about 25% as much dog food now too as a positive since the dog gets all the half eaten stuff off the kids plates. She’s pretty excited about that.
