Pittsburg, Kansas | Exactly. The steak requires a big portion of the calories it contains just to get it digested. A lot of the energy is burned processing it in the gut. A good share of the doughnut energy goes pretty much to the bloodstream as glucose energy and since it raises insulin even the fat portion (the oil it was cooked in) is likely to get sent to fat storage, at least any amount in excess of current energy demands.
insulin shuts off fat burning. It is impossible to burn body fat in a state of high insulin levels. At least according to insulin researcher Bikman. He does cell level research, animal research and human research plus stays up on all the research by other researchers in his field.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4znmY-FBes #mce_temp_url# "You can't burn fat on the body when insulin levels are high". Around the 15-20 minute mark. "Insulin high = sugar burning. Insulin low = fat burning" around minute 22-24.
Insulin resistant vs insulin sensitive person starting around minute 25.
