I agree with you. Lifestyle change is just as important as the initial weight loss. Or the weight will likely come back. That is where cutting out some of the worst high carbohydrate foods might be of benefit. And avoid snacking in between meals. Meal focus centered on high satiety nutrient dense foods like plenty of red meat with all the green vegetables desired for taste.
