A wonderful, dear friend passed away last February. The consummate hostess....everything she did was so effortless and easy for her. She had such a gift for making anyone feel completely comfortable and welcome at her table and she was a fantabulous Italian chef. Her home and table were decorated to perfection. Aperitif, main course, every course.....  So special.  Everything was over the top and special. She was warm and loving and loved nothing more than to have guests there to enjoy a feast and the fellowship that went along with that.  If you were invited to Linda's for a meal, you did not ask questions, you rearranged whatever schedule you had so that you could be there.
My question goes to the liqueur that she served everyone after a massive and delicious meal. She introduced us to this Italian tradition. I was very hesitant. First off, I was so full that I could barely move. But secondly, it was anise flavored. I hate nothing more than I hate licorice. Oh blllechhhhhh.  But Linda insisted, telling us that it would settle the stomach, make room for dessert, and make sleeping later on much more comfortable. So.....I tried it. And of course, she was right. I still hate licorice like no other, but her anise flavored liqueur brings such a strong memory of someone who was much loved in our life that I smile thinking of it. And her. And it did settle a too-full stomach. 
Question is: what was the name of that liqueur???????
