Pittsburg, Kansas | But.........the leader of this group is a pure carnivore for 14 years. My Zero Carb Life is the name of her Youtube channel. She has quite a story herself but in this case she is letting some of the group she heads give their results by going to a heavily meat based diet.
Is pure carnivore for everyone? Probably not. It has not been the way I and my wife have lost weight. We are low carb which naturally tends to lead to a much heavier meat base, but we are not pure carnivore at all. I actually had several vegetables last night. And even at our 20 grams or less carbs a person can have LOTS of vegetables, especially green above ground vegetables. But it pretty much eliminates the very popular starchy vegetables like potatoes, rice and starchy foods like breads and pasta.
Very few people will adopt a pure carnivore diet with no or almost no plant based food. However.............there seems to be a small subset of the population that find great relief from various health problems. Not only bodily fat, but true health problems. So while it is not a solution for everyone nor a diet for everyone, for those that simply just can't shake the extra weight off or have long term health problems conventional medicine hasn't seemed to be able to resolve, maybe it is something worth trying for 90 days. It will either help or it will not. Doesn't have to be a life long commitment to see. Just a thought, not a suggestion.
I believe the human species can survive on a very wide variety of foodstuffs for quite a long time. We are pretty versatile in that respect. The optimal diet? That gets a lot more nuanced that I am sure I don't have all the answers. But a change in diet sure made a positive difference in my life. Do I eat the optimal diet? Probably not. I hope it is good enough to maintain my health.
Here is a 14 year carnivore talking to a bunch of other carnivores.#mce_temp_url# My wife just loves her energy level and upbeat nature. She watches her quite a bit.
