Back in the 90's a report came out about substances intentionally designed and put into food to make people crave it and become addicted. It said that these substances were USDA approved. They are said to be colorless and odorless. Made in a food lab. How long this has been going on I have no clue.
Any chance you could dig up that study? I have long suspected that niacin (nicotinic acid) fits under that category...
