Question on spray drones & battery, regardless of make/model.

As battery wears down from 100% charge to those 40-45% remaining before recharge, does it change the power available to the drone? Does the drone slow up or do anything to conserve battery as it uses up power? I assume the batteries heat up a bit while flying? Does that battery heating on hot days affect the power available in any noticable way?
