| trouble with all this latest & greatest new fangled fuels, the government throws money at it and all the usual suspects promote it and profit from it. "for $500 we`ll figure out your carbon intensity score and tell you how much more per bushel youre gonna get" then in a year the carpetbaggers disappear until the coast is clear for their next boondoggle scam.
seems to me, instead of reinventing the wheel (round shaped wheels seem to be the best proven shape) why not look into making gas mileage better with existing fuels? remember the "200 mpg carburetors" in the popular science magazines in the 1970s? ... "the oil companies bought the patents !!!" well, maybe the government should release those patents :-) seriously though, if you could unlock every bit of energy already in a thimble of gasoline, you could drive a car from iowa to georgia ... the devil is in the details, however. but gas mileage hasnt changed a heck of a lot since the 1930s, compare that with computer speeds and size advancements.
all these rube goldberg contraptions, when perhaps the answers are hidden in plain sight, only trouble is that isnt sexy and there isnt so many sheep for the hucksters to flease. | |
